Ski Trips for the 2009-2010 SeasonClick on a trip for prices and other details.
The ONLY way to secure a spot is by sending a deposit. Wolf Creek (Purgatory) Telluride Crested Butte Some details are subject to change. NOTE: When you send in a deposit for a trip, you need to let us know a few things:
We always have a great time at Wolf Creek! They've got the most average snowfall of ANY AREA in Colorado (465")! We still can't understand why there are never any crowds or lift-lines when we're at Wolf Creek but... there aren't! Perhaps it's due to the quad chair that now services the Waterfall Area. In addition to the great skiing, there are natural hot springs and if you work hard, you might even be able to find a little nightlife (not so easy in Pagosa Springs although we've had fun with karaoke the last few seasons...). The bus ride home from Wolf Creek is the venue for our White Elephant Gift Exchange where we laugh our heads off while opening and stealing a wide range of different kinds of gifts.

The prices for Durango have increased each season to the point where the club isn't really able to offer that significant of a deal to Albuquerque folks who also tend to feel like Purgatory is "in our own backyard." So, rather than lose money on a trip nobody is particularly interested in, we no longer do a trip to Durango...
The Telluride trip is almost always the favorite of the season for four reasons:
The town-side of Telluride is steep and legendary. The Plunge is world-famous and everyone should ski it once, for the view if for nothing else! But do NOT think this mountain is all diamonds and double-diamonds. While there are plenty of very black runs, lifts 4 and 10 serve nothing but blues and greens. The runs of lift 10 are long, slow cruisers, past the vacation homes of the rich and famous. The resort also recently expanded with two new lifts and a 50% increase in Intermediate trails. It's just a short walk from our accommodations to the Coonskin lift and at the end of the day you can ski directly to your room (or even to the hot tub if you've got 'skills')! There are regular town shuttles, but it's also a fairly short walk to incredible food and fun in town. The town of Telluride is what distinguishes this trip from all the others. A comfortable cross between Old West and Bohemian Hip. Friday, after skiing and tubbing, we have a wine and hors d'oeuvres party at "Club 213" (Bill's room) where everyone brings a bottle (or two) of their favorite wine to share and Bill provides some great food (as usual). Some of us even make it out for more fun (dancing, etc.) after that.

Crested Butte has something for everyone. Beginners can ride the Keystone Triple Chair for a gentle meander down Houston or Poverty Gulch. Intermediates can take the Silver Queen lift to the wide open Paradise Bowl. Sunny western skiing at its finest. Advanced skiers head for the early morning sun of the East River lift. Experts can enjoy "helicopter skiing" for the price of the lift ticket! Crested Butte boasts the most lift-served double diamond adventure terrain in the Rockies. This season marks our Sixth Annual "Surf's Up at Crested Butte" theme. Last season, we had nearly all the gang decked out in Hawaiian shirts, leis, etc. right over their ski outfits! Make sure to get yourself a large, loud shirt, grass skirt, etc... Prizes will be awarded for the best Aloha Spirit. We'll be staying in Crested Butte town again this year at the Old Town Inn. There are free shuttles every fifteen minutes back and forth from the base area. Old Town Inn provides a continental breakfast. Old Town Inn
